To transfer your photos library from an Apple Mac to an external drive, you first need to locate the photos or a folder you wish to move. You can right-click and copy, then paste in the new location. Dragging and dropping will also copy the images or folder. For the step-by-step process, look below. Move to the location you want to move the files and press Option+Command+V to move the files. To move files in the Terminal command line, use the mv command. How to move files in Linux. In Linux, using the command shell, you can move files or directories with the mv command. For example, if you wanted to move a file named 'myfile.txt.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong with the Terminal command I am trying to use to copy my Photos Library to an external drive?
Megaman 11 pc descargar. cp -rpv /Users/ccr05/PicturesPhotos Library /VolumesLexar Files
The returning error (?) is:
usage: cp [-R [-H | -L | -P]] [-fi | -n] [-apvX] source_file target_file
Vlc player for mac 2019. cp [-R [-H | -L | -P]] [-fi | -n] [-apvX] source_file .. target_directory
I have 400 GB free on the Lexar drive. I am using the backslashes to show that the spaces in the names are supposed to be there. I've checked the names of both the Photos Library and my 'Lexar Files' solid state external drive.
I need to use the terminal because my Photos library is about 150 GB and just dragging the file fails after a month or so of copying.
